Our Story: How Little Buddha Was Born Between Naptimes
Some businesses start in boardrooms. Ours started in text threads and voice memos between two best friends, usually while bouncing a baby on one hip or hiding in the laundry room for a moment of quiet.
We’re Lindsey and Lauren - two moms, two best friends since middle school, and the two hearts behind Little Buddha.
These days, we live halfway across the country from each other, but that hasn’t stopped us from talking every single day about everything from motherhood and meltdowns to baby sleep schedules and the best snacks to hide from our kids. Motherhood has connected us in a thousand ways, but one of the biggest? Bamboo.
The Bamboo Beginning
When Lauren was pregnant with her first (who’s almost 7 now, I'm sorry, how?!), she was gifted a bamboo swaddle set. It was love at first touch. Soft, stretchy, breathable. It felt like magic, especially compared to all the stiff, scratchy baby stuff out there.
Years later, she introduced Lindsey to bamboo when she had her own babies, and that same “where has this been all my life?” moment happened all over again. The more we talked, the more we wondered:
Why was something this good still so hard to find in simple, everyday basics?
The Dream That Wouldn’t Leave Us Alone
What started as casual chats about how cute baby clothes could also be comfortable and sustainable…slowly turned into something more. A shared Pinterest board here. A logo draft there. Late-night voice notes, ideas scribbled between nap times, and a constant “Wait, what if we actually did this?!”
We weren’t setting out to start a company. We were just two moms dreaming of clothes that felt as calm and cozy as the childhood we want for our own kids.
A Little Brand with a Big Heart
Little Buddha is built on the moments that matter most. The middle-of-the-night feedings. The early-morning snuggles. The messy, magical, everyday chaos of raising tiny humans. Every piece we create is soft, simple, and thoughtfully made to wrap your babe in love, and to remind you that you're doing amazing, even on the hard days.
We still run everything together from two different states, between kid pickups and grocery store snack trips and newborn naps. Lindsey is now pregnant with her third, and Little Buddha is growing right alongside our families.
This brand is our love letter to motherhood, and we’re so honored to share it with you.
With love,
Lauren & Lindsey
